ecoENERGY
Retrofit – Homes – Is available to owners
of single family homes including detached, semi-detached
and low rise multi-unit residential buildings. Property
owners can qualify for a federal grant for improving the
energy efficiency of their home. The maximum grant you can
receive per home or multi-unit residential building is
$5,000.
Tax
Credit for Public Transit Passes - If you
regularly take the bus, subway, commuter rail or ferry,
you can get a tax break equal to 15.25% of the cost of a
monthly transit pass just by saving your expired passes.
The credit will also apply to certain weekly passes and
electronic fare card purchases.

Benefits - On the Canada Benefits Web site, you
can find information about federal, provincial, and
territorial benefit programs and services for individuals.
Canada
Mortgage and Housing Corporation offers a 10
percent refund on its mortgage loan insurance premium when
a borrower buys or builds an energy-efficient home. To
qualify for this refund, the home's energy efficiency must
be rated using the EnerGuide rating system or be R-2000
certified and meet certain minimum requirements.
